Where to buy Dunlop slicks?

Post by Nelso »

After all the shit that has happened lately, I have just been given the best Christmas present ever from my father. He has offered to buy me a set of slicks for the trackie. After what Russ has said about the GP racers I would like to try a set of Dunlops next, to compare with the Bridgestones that are on it now. So, the question is, where is the best place to buy Dunlop slicks?

I'm watching this with interest 'cause I'm going to try a set too. I think you can get from ECRD but I'd be happy to find a cheaper place to buy them

The importer is Monza and any bike shop can order them in for you. The issue now is that Monza are out of stock until mid Jan (at least) as I rang them about 2 weeks ago to have a chat about next years control tyres and find out some more info on the GP racers.

The last delivery Monza did get, ALL went straight out to Madaz (the guys at ECRD and PIRD's) to fill their backorder thats why they still have some.

I think you'll find a load more confidence with the Dunlops, especially when they start to spin. :D

I'll be in for a group buy if we can arrange ;)

I guess this is probably too late now but Champion's Ride Days have got them listed for sale as well. $210 front, $280 rear. They might have some when they're back down here on the 11th and 12th Jan. I'm happy to grab a set for you Nelso if you can't make it up this way on either day or if you can't get some before your next track day.

Compared to what??

Any decent road tyre will set you back more than that for a set.

If anyone is looking for another option, I was talking to someone whom I consider an expert on the subject and he said the Power Ones in the race compounds are as close to the performance of an NTec as you are going to get. Impressive. I think I just decided on my next set of tyres then and there!

Compared to the $450 that WRP wanted for a set of slicks, and the $200-$250 that a lot of members pay for a good set of 2nd-hand slicks. That's what.

I get my decent road tyres for <$450 a pair as well. That's for 2CT Race rear and Pilot Power front. Good prices eh ! If you are paying more than $520 for a pair of road tyres, then you are getting ripped big time. I have *never* paid more than $480 a pair for any set of good road tyres, so I don't know where you get the idea that good road tyres cost more than $520 a pair......you must be paying full RRP and fitting costs mate !!   My dealer looks after me.... ;)
