Paint to cover scratches?

Post by dilligaf »

Due to the wonderful design of the seat, my er6 has scratches and paint rubbed off back to bare metal in the frame under the seat. Any suggestions as to what paint to use to cover it up and how to stop it happening again? It's not visible with the seat off so I don't have to colour match. I'm going OS for 5 months and don't want to leave it in the shed with bare metal.

Touch-up paint from Supercheap etc. - once it has dried, stick some gaffer tape over the wear spot.

leave it with me while your away (promise i won't ride it ) and i'll splash a bit of red oxide on it ..asuming the sub frame is steel then touch up a silvery colour to match otherwise a bit of ali etch primer, colour then add a bit of dble sided foam tape to slow reoccurence of same problem...which will eventually leave a sticky residue on your frame as the tape wears out....... alternatively just bang it in your shed and forget, till you return and do above after a light 400 grit sand
