Re: 1995 zzr250 weight loss
The zzr weighs 145 dry from memory so it's not really that heavy
if you really had the time and money to burn then start by getting rid of the stock exhaust, replace all plastics with carbon fiber and some light weight alloy wheels.
But why would you bother?

I would recommend to stay away from Pancakes, Doughnuts and anywhere else you might find Hoffy

Why would you take a featherweight down to a flyweight

Dude, A ZZR250 is one of the lightest bikes on the road! It ain't heavy, it's just that you are obviously either...... ..
1. New to riding- Don;t worry, the best way for the weight to start to dissappear is by riding it...lots! Wait till you start riding bikes which weigh 260kgs fuelled! Then you'll know what heavy is!
Or...
2. Been riding featherweight dirt bikes which are 20-40 kgs lighter. Once again, do loads of klms on your ZZR and you will find the weight magically dissappears!
Trust me, you'll get used to it. Spend the money on some track days/ advanced rider training. It will do more to make you comfortable than losing 10kgs off the ZZR will!!!

Re: 1995 zzr250 weight loss
I don't think they ever changed that bike from day dot, why fix it if it ain't broke? Any model should be interchangeable. It's an awesome first bike, don't underestimate it. I reckon the only thing to do to make it better is suspension work, she dives under brakes and bottoms out like a fatgirl... and the centre stand scrapes when you corner. Good luck, welcome aboard and have fun!

only changes i've noticed are just some very minor engine modifications relating to the clutch lever mounting and side covers.
