World's Greatest Shave 2010

Post by seraph »

I know this will come as a shock to anyone who's met me, but I'm shaving my infamous dreadlocks off to help find a cure for leukaemia - if I can raise $1000 before my birthday (13th march) the 'locks are gone, bells'n'all! Please sponsor me! The funds we raise will help the Leukaemia Foundation to provide practical care and support to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders.

Is anyone else doing this? I'm a little afraid :?

Link is below... Thanks! J.

Hope you meet your target....not because I want you to loose your locks but for the good it will do for those that need it. :kuda:

Hey thanks so much guys, contributions are much appreciated. I'll shave the 'locks off whether I meet my target or not, I'll just contribute the rest myself. Got customers coming in on saturday the 13th to see the done deed, they reckon they will contribute then :D

This is exciting and really scary  I'm gonna look like a cue-ball... or a crazy dyke bitch... :kuda: J.

Hey hun, nah it's not that bad I did it a couple of years ago, there are photos on my facebook, just friend request me if your on there and you can see them. My hair grew back so much stronger and thicker, am serisously considering doing it again, it's awesome and as a girl you tend to be able to raise a bit more, it's an awesome, awesome cause, heck the way I looked at it is it's just hair and it grows back, I even had to wear a wig because I work in the corporate sector so my head looked a bit ruder than usual. Well done girl, can't wait to see photos. :D

I wasn't going to help, until I saw this. If the gorgeous locks are going, no matter what, I'll chip in. Otherwise I could never do something that would cause your lovely locks to disappear - they're so gorgeous 8)

Nice work J. I donated to yours but also decided to register as well while I was at it. I don't have much hair to lose but will shave the goatee off as well so they have something to cut. I was asked to do it at school to support one of our year 11 students who is shaving her hair (that is long enough to reach her bum) and hadn't got around to doing anything about it, so supporting you has kick started me into action. :kuda:

Thanks so much for the support folks, Cath I think maybe you're the one that tipped me over the $1000 mark, thanks! If other KSRCians are doing it, post up the link to your donation page here and I'll donate to you guys as well (getting spread thin, but it's a great cause!) and since I already met my target I'll give my hard earned to other punters instead of beefing up mine :D

8) <--- That's what I'll look like after next friday :D J.

As well as sponsoring J, can you guys start sponsoring me. Since I joined up late I haven't started raising anything yet. http://my.imisfriendraising.com.au/pers ... Pref=en-CA

Edit: There's no photo of me up yet but I'll get around to putting one up soon. I can't put a photo of the year 11 girl's long hair up either due to child protection laws. (the principal won't even allow anyone bar a hairdresser to cut the students' hair on Friday)
