2006 ZX10R

Post by Mad RS »

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to put up some pictures fo the new girl. At the moment she is completely stock but she wont stay that way for long. I haven't come up with a name yet so I am open to suggestions.

The first mods will be
- Swingarm spools
- New windscreen either double bubble or GP style (where is a good place to get either in Aus??)
- Front brake up grade either CBR1000 or ZX14

They're an awesome bike. I can recommend TRE, version with gear indicator is cool. Carbon Akras are a nice touch, not too loud (not that I've ever heard mine with the stock cans on. Enjoy

Eagle screens are good and Australian made.
Get the front suspension sorted first and foremost.....

stock ones are a little quieter and more high pitch. Akaras are not too loud and do have a nice note. :D
Let the good times roll.

Thanks for the comments guys. Atm the suspension seems to work fine (105kg). Slowly I want to add carbon here and there as I think it goes well with the yellow. The main issue is the front brakes. As soon as Mr Rudd gives me some money back at tax time I am going to fir her up with ZX14 calipers, good pads, braided lines and some pazzo levers for some bling. The bike is my first 1000cc at it just blows my mind what it is capable of doing.

I just love it!!!!!

Thought I would give a bit of an update on the ZX.

1. Finally finished the brake up grade. Had a bit of an issue after replacing the Tokico calipers with Nissin ones. Had a death shake between 105 to 90kph while braking. Seems that I warped the rotors while bedding in the new pads. So on went a new set of discs and presto, brakes that felt like they should be on a superbike. Absolute night and day between the 2 setups. Can't believe that Kawasaki would have allowed the tokico setup to be used.

2. Had Kevin from VCM Cycle Seats shape and cover the seat. I went with a 'gripper' type of material as I found under heavy acceleration and baking that I couldn't stop from sliding on the seat. Also had Kevin shape the seat so it had a bit of a slope from back to front to help me keep up on the tank. All in all it has giving me a much more comfortable riding position which was proven over a 400km ride on not so smooth roads. No leg cramp at all.

3. Finally I have fitted some new gel type grips and a double bubble screen. Both have made long rides much more enjoyable\comfortable.
