I was just wondering what's the easiest way to check the float height.

If you don't know how to set the float then you should not be working on the carbs.

I know how to set the height oldman, I was just asking for hints or tips on measuring the height to make the job easy.

Some needle and seats have a spring on the needle. This is to compensate for bumps etc. Make sure you do not compress the spring when setting the float or it will be too low. Also Jim Beam is a fantastic tool for working on carbs.
