THANKS for the update J-rex, Ohlins seems like the go with these, even The Woose from MCN has Ohlins on teh back of his REX now. What rate fork and shock springs did you end up with?????
Thanks again.

Running 9.75 springs in the forks......here are details for the shock springs:
480-33 Ohlins Shock Spring 46/230/Progressive 20,3-28,6N/mm
Both rates are fine for my weight and riding though, no probs
EXCELLENT, thanks for the update on the springs. STill cant get my head (or wallet!) around the extra expense tho, i am thinking of sending forks/shocks to Promecha in Melbourne and see how that turns out, just waiting on a board member to re-fit his after having Promecha do them and post a ride report. I had Ohlins on my last bike (rear) then had to revalve and respring it for my anyway ($$$$) & still wasnt what i thought i wanted, oh well !
Still waiting emmet. Ive been as sick as a dog for a week, havent been out of bed, & was in hospital for a day. So as soon as Im up & about I'll have the road test for ya..

Yeah....i thought about just upgrading the stock suspension but wasn't too happy about the stock fork cartridge setup, where it has a sealed (compression valve) end...I had spoken to ProMecha as well but they open up the end, revalve, then weld it up again....No option for you to do your own servicing down the track if you wanted to take the valve apart and clean/service etc......even Kawasaki lists them as "non serviceable" parts!?
Bonus with the Traxxion carts is they can be retrofitted to almost any other model with very little work....
I'm sure a re-valve of the stockers would do the job though..

On the older - up to & incl 04 models - you can (re-valve/shim) and it is a large improvement. On the 05+ there is very little you can do without a major investment - like you have with the TD equip or with gold valves etc. Or you just piss them off and get something else

Thanks Phil, forgot to mention that about the years........mine's an 06
Ohlins forks would be nice.....but a little out of my price range ....
I actually considered doing the USD zx9 conversion before going down the TD route...

I dont think the USD forks look as good on the ZRX, conventional looks more "period".
I've heard alot of guys on the ZRXOA speak highly of the TD stuff, gold valves as well. Nelso and Matt Chan have both had their front modified as much as you can without going for gold valves etc and they said it is an improvement. Considering what it would cost for gold valves I'd go the Ohlins cartridge kit - not a lot of difference in price really.
6 months on and what's the verdict on the Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridges?
I have stiffer springs but need to go the next step with the front end and will be considering these or Ohlins cartridges depending on a few factors like cost etc.
Phil, do you have a link or contact for the Ohlins cartridges? I can't find anything about them.

I've got a few, I'd try Glen first. Still got his number? If he cant there are others

Nelso, i really like them.....front end feels good and adjustments make a difference now..depends on how much you want to spend...i think the Ohlins cost a bit more than the AKs though.
I'm happy mate, bike is more enjoyable to ride and with the Ohlins on the back...feels balanced.
