yup//i leave mine in for 6000km too, but after 5000km its starts to feel crap - thats if its been ridden hard (track days & wheelies)...if i ride more sedately it handles the 6000km no prob...

Well, managed to change the oil finally... Used Motul 5100 and it is really good. I did not know what they put in before but the gear change feels much better. Even the 1st gear clunk is reduced much. The Motul costs $50 for 4 litres. In comparison I changed my car's ol with Valvoline which costs $17 for 5 litres

that does not include Honda...which are dearer than Kwak ones... :(
Emgo or HiFlo are $15 from MCA, Honda filter is $20 from BMS in Beaconsfield (Honda dealer) or $26 with a Honda filter remover as well! (That's for a HF204 type filter, known to fit about every motorcycle known to man, ok, an exageration, but it's very very common).

Tell that to all my previous bikes I've run Mobil Racing 4T with then. No clutch slip. And hey, if it was going to slip, it'd slip on the 10R, and it doesn't.

Go Motul if you want a semi synth, if you want a full synthetic, go Mobil Racing 4T, it's liquid gold! And if you shop around you'll get it for $60/4L.

It did NOTHING, except cost me $28 more for the $4L, & I'm going back to the Shell Ultra next oil change & sticking to it.

How many KM's do some of you push the bike before changing?
My bike won't do more than 2500km's without a Oil & Filter change!
I do 6000km between oil and filter changes, but I also use Mobil Racing 4T, so it doesn't degrade anywhere near as quick as some other stuff.

Personally I think Motul 5100 is ok ... but not that crash hot. I dunno when they bothered to upgrade it's formula in the past 5 years, and there's been lots of oil advacements.

I just had a look at my service receipt.. my bike has Shell in it.

On a different note how long should a air filter last? mine got changed again, and it's only 6000km old

Should last atleast 12,000km depending on the riding. I know mine will well and truly need changing, but that's 'cause I did heaps of highway and a ton of bugs, dirt n shite is in there.
