the C models were also officially sold here as well tho eh? Maybe some ringing around and not mentioning its a grey.. try some googling and see if u can get the part # ya need.. would thought they wouldn't be so pedantic over things like cables n whatnot

Re: zx2r throttle cable
hey i had the same issue! the zxr250 has a throttle return cable too, if its the return cable you can remove it and the throttle will work as usual...
Otherwise try wreckers, the cables dont have standard sized enders either so are difficult to make up custom can be done though
the part numbers are,
Opening 12-1439
Closing 12-1440
(supplied by mechanic)

Thanks for the responses, i did end up getting a part number which you can search on the japanese kawasaki website, its as vanrootn stated but with 540 in front ie 54012-1439 for the opening. Unfortunately even when you quote the number at a dealer its not on their system as kawasaki australia doesnt include grey imports. I stumbled on a website called findapart.com.au and reply back from a wrecker in sydney.

Re: zx2r throttle cable
Try these guys, they are pretty handy for smaller bike parts

Or as a last resort Supermoto in Vic, or RB's in Sydney..... both of who import the smaller bikes

Hey mate,
Did you end up finding a new cable? As mentioned, if it's the decelerator/return cable, you can run without it. I am (my ZX2R came like that).
But, there's a seller on ebay called 'Southern Cross Ports' and they do grey import parts. Anyway, they've got a listing for both cables at a pretty reasonable price if you ask me:
