Slow Top End Speed 2011 Ninja 1000 ABS
Are we talking ninja 1000 or zx10r?
If it's a ninja 1000, then I would not expect too much more.

We are talking about the Ninja 1000 ABS (current model) which is the more upright version. I love the ZX10R but maybe next time.
245 k's is a bit disapointing, if this is all the "off the shelf" bike can produce then I may look into a few performance tricks to compensate for the poor performance.

Re: Slow Top End Speed 2011 Ninja 1000 ABS
It's not that much less aerodynamic than a ZX9R which has similiar quoted top end power figures to the Ninja 1000, so one would assume that it should be able to do at least a genuine 270kph. I know the ZX9 would indicate 288 on the playschool clock, which prolly equates to about 270 real! So yeah, that actually is a little disapointing. Not that we are wanting to sit on 270, but if it does 270, then 240 or 250 is a walk in the park. Whereas, if it only does 245, then 220 is the walk in the park. I know there are a few that may like to sit on much mroe than that for sustained periods. Gos....you remember Bombala to Melbourne?????

Mate .. everyone knows that a 9 can push 270 -280 with whatever gearing it chooses while icing cupcakes and converting virgins ........ well everyone except Russ knows that .. but he has never iced a cupcake ....Six Addict wrote:it may be geared a heap taller than the 9... maybe thats why it cant push up to 270-280...

The limiting factor is of course funds and the handbrake otherwise I would already have done just that.z900/zx9 wrote:I will just keep buying nines till theres none left
Geeze I love 9's.
Have no desire for anything new on the market. As fuck off fast and technologically advanced as they may be there is absolutely nothing wrong with a good ZX9.

I got a sweater for my birthday. I realy wanted a moaner or a screamer.

The drag coefficient was interesting but looking for something back at ground zero. Any thoughts on a PC5 system?

Thought of selling the roady but then went for a ride and couldn't do it.
