Auction value of stat write-off 07 ZX10

Post by photomike666 »

Having never purchased from an auction, I need som advice from those who have.

I've seen an 07 ZX10 at auction, left side damage and a nice dint in the frame (looks to be a small round impact). The dint is the only reason for the write off, and cosmetically it isn't that bad! Registered 02/07 and has 10,500Km.

I'm thinking an update to my trackbike, and a few lower K parts for my current 07 Zx10 (with 40,000km).

But what are they worth once written off? I've seen a lower Km 07 for $9K in great condition, but have no idea what to plan for in the auction.

All help appreciated.

Bit like ebay,if you want it bad enough just keep bidding if you only have a certain amount you are willing to spend stick to your guns and dont go over that limit.Dont forget most auction occur a 10% fee on top of final bid and you may also have to pay gst,so in reality you are paying 20% of purchase price.good luck

Mike, just some food for thought : I'm in the process of bringing in a race frame from overseas, and plan to rebuild the bike around it next Autumn / Winter. That being the case, I'll have a complianced undamaged (albeit paint-marked) frame available at that time - possibly of interest if you want to put the write-off back on the road ?

Cheers,

Doesn't mean they sold it for that figure . Its pretty tough to sell a bike at the moment . Just a thought .
