RIP Simoncelli
Agreed. He would be shatteredaardvark wrote:Watching the crash, it would appear that Rossi hitting Simoncelli caused the helmet to come off. Rossi and Simoncelli are reportedly very good friends. I wonder what effect this will have on Rossi's career?

Re: RIP Simoncelli
Very, very sad.
I'm wondering if Wayne Garner saw this as it would bring back some painful memories for him.
He nearly gave up racing for a similar incident.

R.I.P. Marco
Feeling shattered atm. Thoughts go out to his Family & Friends. My thoughts go to Edwards and Rossi too. Don't know what would be going through their minds but we are all just puppets in the show of life. Nothing they could have done any different. Shot of Rossi down the track with his head down......I think he knew.

R.I.P Marco
The moment the broadcasters on ONE mentioned that at 1657 today, we lost Simoncelli, I burst into tears. I'm by no means one of his fans, but at the same time, he's one of the Characters of MotoGP. Watching him race you have this *want* to see him do well, to see him win. Scary part is, he's only 18months older than I am. That part really hit home.
I can only imagine how Edwards and Rossi are feelings. Echoing some sentiments on Facebook, I would not be surprised if either Rossi or Edwards, or even both, hung up the knee sliders and helmet. That's surely something you will never forget.
RIP mate, ride those silky smooth twisties through the pearly gates of heaven.

Re: RIP Simoncelli
It just occurred to me that the last rider killed in the to class was Daijiro Kato, who was also a Gresini rider. What the hell must that team be going through?
You weren't alone. My wife started and I just sat there in stunned silence.MIZ RX3 wrote: The moment the broadcasters on ONE mentioned that at 1657 today, we lost Simoncelli, I burst into tears.

Condolences to his family both literally and in MotoGP. What terrible day. I can't begin to imagine the state that Edwards and Rossi are in right now
