Recommend me a Tyre
Vukie, based on your info I'd go with a pilot road 2 or a 3, either will be more than adequate for your requirements.

Although looking at them I would not reccomend them for road use. The have one of the smallest/minimalist tread pattern know to man.

Re: Recommend me a Tyre
Sent off an email for some pricing, got the below from GC Motorcycles (Adelaide).
Are the prices for BT16's reasonable? Dunlop, never heard many people talk about them... is it worth a punt?Bridgestone BT16's are $490 per pair.
Michelin, Pirelli, Metzeler all have similar products, at similar prices, and are in stock now.
Dunlop have some sport tyres on special from $420 per pair.

Re: Recommend me a Tyre
That's prob about the right money here in Australia. However, you can get them for less than half that price (plus post) from the US. last order (7 tyres) cost us $90 postage... They arrived on the doorstep 4 days from ordering.........BarraSpalding wrote:Sent off an email for some pricing, got the below from GC Motorcycles (Adelaide).

Re: Recommend me a Tyre
I get mine here, for a comparo... I just ride in, they fit and balance, ride out. Price includes fitting, which normally runs what? $40-50 or so for 2, on the bike?
http://www.teammoto.com.au/tyre-centres.php
Just quoting michelin: PR2 = $399, PR3 = $449, PP = $429, fitted.
Does that $490 include fitting?

Re: Recommend me a Tyre
Awesome link
My 3 sets on the 6 have gone Power, 2CT, Pure* at the moment. All have been great, can't fault them.
*For what it's worth, I'm running a Pure rear and a Q2 front no issues so far
The pure seems squirmy and slides around a bit, but so did the 2CT. Wasn't fast enough when I had the power.
I'll be whacking a Q2 rear on soon enough to match, before the xmas track day.
Hold a Pure and a Q2 at the same time and the pure is a lot lighter, also very flexy at room temp compared to the Q2.

Michies have always been a squirmy tire. Especially the pilot powers. Pures must be the same.
Onnce you get used to it they rock!

Both times I lived in Adelaide I bought all my tyres off Martin Renfree at GC Motorcycles. If you get to know him, he looks after you really well. He helped me with loads of stuff while there. A good guy.

Re: Recommend me a Tyre
ive allwys liked Michelins, but the thing ive found over the years with them is, that when pushed to the limit, they dont give much warning when they let go, and when they do they keep letting go, having said that, thats when pushed to their limit.
The dunlop qal dont do that, ive found they give u a fair warning when pushed, so u learn to heed their warning!!!
Thats what ive found anyway.

hmmmm Q2 > michelin? They have soft sidewalls too right? Just a shame about the weight but I spose it's gotta come from somewhere. I gave up on dunlops a while ago but it probably wasn't a fair comparison (D207 etc)
