most of the newer sportbikes are designed with a undertail then they bunged on a fender to make the bike leagal/adr compliant but they come off as a unit and you stick a little bracket in there to hold the number plate and blinkers it looks a lot neater.

Meanwhile you still have the old fender unit in one peice clogging up space in your garage or a cupboard somewhere just in case you need it.

I used to have a thing about r1s going past me at 150kph on one wheel and spitting rocks at me when i was riding a 250 i thought they must have been pretty powerfull beasts to be able to rip up the bitumen but looking back it it it was probably just that they had fender eliminaters fitted. :D
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

My bike looks shitloads better since it had it's current fenderectomy, but the downside is that the previous owner had done it as well, and the tail light is cracked and chipped from stones hitting it.

Cause they look shit. They just un bolt on my model up, so they can be re fitted if need be. They have huggers too, so it doesn't spray up as much crap. The 7 was hacked off too, but it had been done before i got it.
Was the first thing i did when i got mine.

Either cut it off or replace it with an eliminator I reckon. It looks much better.

On my ZX9 I cut it off to level with the bottom of the number plate. I traded it in and the dealer tried to knock me down on it but they were just being picky. If you cut it just make sure its straight and take shitloads of time. I used a really small toothed saw designed for cutting polycarb etc, but something like a hacksaw would probably do the job

On the 10 I bought an eliminator and keep the original bit for when/if I sell it.

OMG Colette, you gotta do it. It looks sensational (although I'm biased).

The whole operation took under 30 mins, and its really not difficult.

And I don't get crap flicking up at me either. In the wet, there is some water gets in just under the seat, but not much at all, and I stop it by stuffing a plastic bag in there.

Cut that ugly thing off!!!

OK, I've decided to do it :D

Will post pics when it has been done - either at James's "tinkering" day or with another friend's help.
