happy to report that the Shadowfax turned up at my place yesterday - its a rolling chassis (rolling on the wrong wheels mind you) - but it is here !! :P :P

Hope to have an update on the motor shortly. It won't be fitted to the frame until the correct wheels are here and fitted up with all the correct spacers etc.

Things likely to hot up shortly ......... :kuda:

Happy to report that I had an SMS from Greg tonight to say that the wheels are finished and that they can be picked up from Greg's brother's place at Moss Vale. I won't be able to do this till after the weekend now as the Island Classic is going to intervene, but that's another step closer. I also had a phone call from Redback Racepaint today to say that Paul has started on preparing the glasswork for painting. Slowly, but it's moving along. Kent and I are in deep discussion about artistic and creative things like signs, T-Shirts and stickers, we're going to do it right.

This is a great story and glad to see it progressing so well.

Can you tell me who you got to do up your wheels?

Cheers

Yes, an old CRRC buddy in Canberra, Greg is his name. I can give you contact details if you wish.

Well, along with making a complete nuisance of myself at PI this weekend, I also managed to get in a meeting with the Gos to discuss progress. Things are now ticking along quite nicely. The wheels are FINALLY finished and he's picking them up tomorrow (Tuesday). They'll be fitted with tyres and brakes, etc so that everything lines up and then it's in with the motor. The front calipers need new pistons, seals and dust covers which Gos is going to source in his next buying escapade (they're 38mm not 43 like the normal Zed). At PI on the weekend I found a bloke in Berrima who can do a mold off the MM fairing for me and then the new one can go to Redbacks for painting. I gave away about 2 dozen business cards on the weekend so i expect even more people to start checking out the site and watching our progress.

OK - here are some nice new wheels for Shadowfax ! Picked these up yesterday after the Wakefield meeting...... :kuda:

they will be getting some 18" slicks fitted during the week. Yes, 18" slicks. New ones. Plucked straight from the bowels of the 4th Dimension !!

I expect to be sorting the proper rolling chassis out once the tyres are fitted, and hope to have the motor done prior to the CDT tour at the end of this month. February and into March is just mental with bike rides and stuff before the BSFOS at the end of March, so time to get a wriggle on....

Wow, they look great, thanks for picking them up, mate, it's all rushing headlong towards the last weekend in March, isn't it? Oh, I should add that these are not "new" wheels as such, but the original wheels cleaned and respoked with new spokes (thanks Greg)
