alright fellow "best bike in the world" owners......
if you have an aftermarket pipe, what do you have, and why do you like it? Is it a full-system? Do you have a pic?

Not quite a J but close enough. The full Yoshi on my G is great. Its loud compared to stock but pretty quite compared to other systems. The idle is alot deeper than stock and rises to a F1 scream at redline with no resonating along the way like some pipes do which sounds horrible. Performance wise it gave better top end, but the best bit is how its filled in the mid range.

I actually ended up with this because I looked at pipes claimed performance gains, reputations and prices and figured out which ones were the best bet to be a good thing. I then found some sound clips here http://www.sportrider.com/tech/146_0410 ... index.html
and ruled out the ones that sounded crap and settled on a Yoshi. I was actually going to buy a stainless muffler here for $750 but stumbled across the full system on ebay and got it for $660 to my door.

Akrapovic Evolution titanium full system.

Pros:
-Light as all hell; Less than 4.5kg for the whole thing, including the steel springs and collars.
-Deceptively quiet at low and midrange revs, demonic at the top end.
-Even on stock jetting, the throttle response and power improvements are off the planet; there's more power from 6,000rpm on, with peak power now arriving practically right on the revlimiter...
-Durability; the pipe's now done some 28,000km in all sorts of weather and isn't showing any weathering, as you'd expect from titianium.
-Craftsmanship; conical sections, welding, joins which seal without hi-temp sealant... drool.

Cons:
-Requires that the pillion pegs and the stock right rear indicator be ditched (see image)
-Price, if you were buying one new; Bandit Accessories, who bring Akrapovic into the country quote, $3150 for one. Being out of work atm, I'm toying with the idea of chopping in the ZX6 (give me the chance to get to know the ZX9 better). If I do, I'll sell the pipe separately, and I won't even contemplate accepting less than, say, $1100 for it.
-The muffler strap and bracket, like all bare carbon fibre, have taken on that cloudy look inherent in UV-etched epoxy.

Note: Photo taken two days after I got back from WSB 2003; I hadn't had a chance to wipe a greasy rag over the bike. It's normally not quite that dirty.

I-K, I have the same exhaust as you put with a different hanger, as I still have the stock indicators AND the pillion footpeg.

Dunno what the difference is tho.

I've got a Yoshi on mine, it's just an end-can but as the system is stainless anyway it looks like a full-system. All of the packing material disappeared years ago so it's now very 'fruity', esp. now I've removed the resonators and fitted a K&N

Only downside is that I think it will now get me in trouble as I can help but thrash the bugger silly just to listen to the noise

I bought mine with a Staintune. I love the sound, especially on some of the corners on the old road that are surrounded with rock wall

It has no baffle in it (that's how the bike was sold to me) but I plan to get one fitted very soon, as I have no interest in riding a bike that will get monthly fines. It will be a sad day though, since the unbaffled sound often brings a smile to my face.

Art can made in the UK.
Oval alloy and anodised in blue sounds great and weighs nothing.
Quality and finish is v good very happy with it and its something you dont see in Aust. Looks like the anodised micron

Same here. I've got the Street legal version with the removable baffle. With the baffle in it doesn't sound any louder than stock and with it out is not offensively loud. It passes the Euro sound test apparently (I presume with the baffle in.

As a matter of fact.... yes. It is! Mine has black wheels, the Akra pipe, the blue tank protector which a mate got from Kawasaki US for me, the l-brackets for the rack and I had the orange u-lock on it with the chord.

Oh, and see what I mean about having the pillion peg and indicator on there? Actually, looking at it next to yours, mine looks like it's on a wierd angle!

I heard that disasembly of stock pipe, then cutting the inside of the muffler by 1 inch gives great sound! Cheap and you get no fine... Haven't got the time to do it yet though, not sure how to attach it back.

Yup. That's because they're different systems. Yours is an earlier model to mine; it doesn't have the conical muffler inlet endcap (if you squint really hard, you can see that mine does), the muffler itself is shorter, the link pipe's narrower, and the whole system's built up out of constant-diameter sections, not conical ones. Also, it looks like your outlet is offset, not concentric with the endcap.

Just ended up spending $225 at Vic Motorcycle Wreckers and getting my Kerker.
