Mmmm...not so sure $500 bucks for what looks like a fucked shock is a nice find??? I think the cost of the new parts even without the labour would make a new one look attractive.

I was thinking of buying that, but need to talk to someone like Frank Pons first to find out how much a full rebuild would cost v's a new one if available. They had a few good bits for sale off an old BSB ZXR.

Looking at the shock, being off a race bike might be plausible. But, I think it's probably done 100,000klms in a road bike since then! Look at the road grime and oil build up on it. Look at the rust. I personally would think it was for the most part U/S. It would need ever seal replaced, complete new shim stacks and possibly the shaft, as well as any other internals. It's also very old technology and a brand new one would use todays modern valving set ups and be a much more usable shock. A good Ohlins tech can make pretty much any shock you want from spare parts, but I think they would still make something which would fit this anyways.

Yeah good point, I think I'll keep searching as well as ask Frank what he can throw together for me.
