Sounds like a job for Mel or the Gosmeister, there the 2 older bike experts here although there are a few others that know there way around em, me not being one of them.

Re: z900
normally this happens when you overfill the oil. Excess oil gets blown up the breather and into the airbox. If you are sure that the oil level is OK, the other cause for this problem is that the crankcase is being pressurised from excess 'blow-by'. The compression rings are rooted on 1 or more cylinsers and combustion chamber pressure is getting past the top rings and into the cases.stone MOVIE wrote:......hi guys got prob my 75 z900 is leaking oil from crankcase breather all the time got pods on carbys so no air box i got a k&n filter on the breather need help the oil in motor is fine not over full ??????????????......
You need to do a compression test. Probably best to get a mechanic to do this with the right tools. They will tell you straight up what the issues are.

Re: z900
I knew a bloke years ago with a similar issue.
Took a while, but we finally worked out that his idea of correct oil fill, was till it seep'd out the filler hole whilst on the side stand

Re: z900
Dud rings pressurising the cases sounds the most likely if oil level isn't too high.
Personally i'd try h.b.bears oil level fix 1st.Head gasket pretty unlikely with the amount of oil being talked of.Have agood look anyway...to satisfy yourself if nothing else.
Good luck.
