No Red Key

Looking to purchase a ZX12R without the red key.....is there any way around purchasing a a new ecu if the only black key is lost? What price do you think a 2004 12 with 43000klms in good condition should cost .....without red key ?

Just thought I'd put it out there......Blue 2004 ZX12R, WL261 reg, serviced at powerhouse dyno at Nerang, bike located at Beaudesert......has no red key, what are my chances that someone here is connected and has the key in a draw ? Amyone anyone ?

Price wise dont know sorry. Some here have had their black key copied by locksmiths without the red key. Stay tuned Im sure they will post

Yep have had it done. The locksmith needs to be a high tech one with a high machine but they can do it.

However if you lose the original black one before you get it copied then your farked

Yeah a good locksmith can do it, but don't tell the seller that, use it as a bargaining tool
More importantly though, do you know why there is no Red key ? Is the Bike stolen ? is it a repairable write off ? Usually no Red key means the bike has been through the Insurance Company Auction process for one reason or another.........

Thanks guys, found a local locksmith, $100 new key. Price drop on bike negotiated $650, sweet.
