Windscreen Tint

Post by Mojo67 »

Are there any rules about how dark the tint on bike windscreens can be? I bought a cheap double bubble and I'm a bit shocked by the darkness, I reckon its about 80%. At my height I can never see through the thing anyway, but I won't bother fitting it if the plod are going to ping me for it.
Cheers

No tinted screens allowed day or night from my take on the rules from years ago unless factory fitted to meet ADR, same with a car windscreen and headlight covers, but you can wear sunglasses at night driving a car, cant do that on a bike with sunnys or tinted visor. If a windscreen is fitted to a bike you must be able to see clearly through it.

I could be wrong on this tho.

Pretty hard pressed to be done on it unless you fail the dickhead test when pulled over or you meet our fav' Mt Nebo law enforcer.

Ducati Paso had a solid painted screen. No seeing through that one. Can't imagine it is an issue at all.

What a load of crap!
Ducati made the Paso, which had a painted screen. It is not illegal to paint your screen or make it any colour/shade or darkness in this country.

I had stated "I could be wrong" after me saying on my take of the rules from years ago which means that I remember something somewhere about it but I don't really know for sure.... I was looking up about tinted headlight covers at the time.....maybe you could help find the relevant section in the ADR's instead of saying "What a load of crap" therefore your totally wrong.

if you wanna argue join in on Facebook.

$25 well spent. Easier to fit than I thought it would be, just re-used the old captive nuts. I can see the speedo now, so I guess I'm out of excuses? Thanks guys. :kuda:
