Hi Guys,
I am just wondering if anyone is familiar with any inherent gearbox issues on the ZX7R's...
My issue...
Shifting from 1st to 2nd is somewhat average when your above 6k , anything under is sweet however
if you take off from a stand still and happen to push it harder than that it seems to drag itself into
2nd which doesn't feel to crash hot.
Every other shift is fine including down shifting, not sure if I am just expecting too much from the old
girl or if there is a bent or worn fork or something else..
I have just done the clutch as this was slipping ( not to try and rectify this issue ) and cleaned clutch slave
cylinder ... this made no difference to how it rode before.
Any ideas or advise would be great..
Thanks

Re: ZX7R Gearbox question!
Chain & sprocket is something I am going to replace as they are worn but I would say it is about 25mm max
I did read this somewhere else and when I ran down to the garage to look I was hoping I was going to find
it loose as anything ...
I wonder if the fact that the sprockets and chain is worn perhaps has some effect on it also, the chain may not be
too slack however if its not really in place correctly perhaps there is some kind of excess movement with the chain link in the tooth...

Re: ZX7R Gearbox question!
PROBLEM SOLVED!
Previous owner had adjust the shift linkage position and it was not obviously giving it enough positive throw
into 2nd... heaps better now!
Phew... was thinking this was going to be a motor out exercise..
