got a gopro hero3 black, have yet to see any of the issues outlined here; even has foam in the back door, and sound even in the airtight is good.

mind you, my last camera was a real pos!

720P x 60fps is the attraction with the GoPro's if I want quality sports action shots at high speed such as bike riding, however i am happy enough with the gopro2 although its menu isnt as easy as the gp1. i cant justify the price of the black edition at this stage.

Had very few problems with any of the 3x GoPro's other than fogging (lost loads of great footage to that) which i now use the moisture pads all the time which also helps with the rattle issue.

Mind you it is impossible to keep them mounted to the CR500 as it vibrates them off pretty much straight away :lol:

What are these moisture pads of which you speak? The rattle is driving me nuts I can't figure out if it is still the camera rattling in the case after I lined the bottom of it with adhesive rubber strips or if it is the buttons on the case itself rattling in the case.

Are you sure its not the mount that's rattling?...see pic below.
