Bit of a rebuild
So after two years of sitting in a friend's garage, I re acquired my old track bike. Since I now live in a town of 800 people with no Internet (only phone), I decided to do a little fix up. It's heading back to being a road bike.

Re: Bit of a rebuild
Looks brilliant - I always wanted to do a black frame on a 9. Poor old Marko will be devastated you got rid of his red powder coated frame, but I never thought it looked real flash personally.

It was hideousssss
I've spent more money on it than what it's worth so I'll ride it until it's dead.

I'm guessing it ain't about the money though is it mate. It's starting to look great. I reckon black frames on 9's look friggin awesome. Especially with a black and green fairing paint job.
Can't wait to see you doing this on it!!!!

Re: Bit of a rebuild
Yeah its not about the money. I've had a shit time for a while and it's starting to come back to me. This bike sat in a friend's garage for two years. He was going to buy it off me but couldn't make a decision. After 6 months of dreaming that I found a motorbike in my garage that I'd forgotten I had, I borrowed a van and drove 7 hours and took it back.Strika wrote:98ninja wrote:It was hideousssss

New engine bolts arrived today. I'll put them in, tank on and hopefully fire it up. My plan is to do a few rides from here (inverell) to the coast.

Re: Bit of a rebuild
You've totally transformed your bike mate, it looks awesome with the black frame

Re: Bit of a rebuild
This looks familiar. Mine started out as a 2000 ZX6R stored in a shed for 6 years (see photo - as found). Now 3 1/2 years later it is 98% complete and will soon grace the show bike circuit.
Keep up the good work and as for the cost - hey, every man needs a hobby.
