i had my gpx just above 150 and would go anymore98ninja wrote:had my 95 zzr250 up to 165 full tuck down a hill with a tailwind.
i loved that bike . took the hero knobs off the pegs on both sides . man 250s can go round corners
how fast does your bike go
It's a little more complicated than that. It's been shown that they are very accurate all the way to 3 figures but after that they tend to start adding the odd 10k's here and there. Anyone would think the manufacturer's did it on purpose to boost rider's bragging rights and therefore sales.Morden wrote:Remember that Aussie spedo's have to be accurate to within 10%
this means that while it COULD be reading your exact speed, even with a new speedo you could be + or - 10% of your indicated speed.
so for 270km/h indicated, thats anywhere from 243km/h to 297km/h
To farking fast for our roads anyway.

I think the old ZZR2Fiddy managed 150...
The 05 636 I have had up to 250 (indicated) on the straight at EC
And I am sure someone I know very well once saw 265 (indicated) on a private test track.
Of course I have no interest in what my bikes top speed is.

I wonder if we all started this post again, but on the basis of having used GPS, whether the figures claimed would remain the same. Somehow I doubt it very much ... and in some cases I think people would get a real shock.NovaCoder wrote:It's a little more complicated than that. Theres always someone / something faster out there , Take it easy guys/girls .

Ummmm let me see
the speedo on my zx2 only goes to 190 and i've had but past that in 5th. but it is a little conservative so i'd sav prob 180ish in 5th.
takes too much road to get it up higher in 6th.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Had a mate who got pulled over for 68 in a 60 once (downhill of course, he's not that fit), the cop told him to slow it down, but let him off because since there was no trafic at the time, and bicycles aren't required to have spedo's (unless your a triathlete, think about it), there was no way he could acuratly judge that he was over 60.
This is of course around 8 years ago to, not sure how he'd go if he got pulled over now)

All indicated.
98 ZXR250 - 195 limiter in 5th (m/s EC)
02 GSXR750 - 290 6th with more to go (m/s EC)
04 Trek 2300 - 73 (Newbridge Rd Moorebank)
The first 2 there is this bloody left hand turn that I had to slow down for otherwise 10 to 20 more. The last one, having watched the recent TDF, I hope like hell I don't come off wearing lycra.

Seeing as I don't have access to private roads or camera equipment to do it myself I found this on the internet.
Apparently it's a green 2003 ZXR636 with a pipe & pc?

I've only managed 240kph on my ZX9R before running out of road/bravery...but feck it gets up there fast!
Got my old RF900 up to indicated 260kph at 9000rpm in 4th gear (very long straight) had plenty of time to think about how long it was taking.
