BRIS: Caliper reco - who/where?

Post by Shifty »

As with the suspension post, need a caliper reco'd but the bike isn't rideable. Want to pull it off and have someone clean it up and put a seal kit through it. Who/where?

wouldnt be too hard to do that one yourself shifty, you just pop out the seals with a screw driver and put new ones in there and clean the pistons with a bit of very fine wet and dry to get the gunk off then lube the piston with a bit of brake fluid and push it back in with your finger.

Clean up the slider pins and use rubber grease on them and fit new boots.

New pads as well and refit and bleed.

Should be able to get all the seals and boots in a kit.

Dont overdo it when sanding down the pistons just a light rub to get the gunk off.

I'm just lazy... I have done it a few times with cars in the past but remember how much of a pain it was getting the seals on so I decided to pay someone instead :)

MMM Motorcycles at Slacks Creek - they do all the mechanical stuff I can't be bothered with, and at a good price too :)
