RC Back Protectors

Post by MrStompy »

Hello

I just bought an RC back protector for my alpinestars jacket.

Its about the same size (except thicker) as the crappy piece of rubber the jacket came with in the back pocket.

the jacket looks weird now cause the back protector causes a big lump accross the top of the shoulders where it pokes out - (cause its thicker than the original and not flexible).

It feels fine on though just looks weird.

is this normal? will it settle in after a while?

I cant go riding round looking silly now can i?

thanks

Most Back Protectors are held on by Straps, (thick waist strap & thin shoulder straps in my case) as opposed to being placed in the Jacket ?. The Jacket can slide up or Rotate in an accident & could reduce the benefits a Back protector should offer to your spine.
Mine pokes out the bottom of my "Brando" leather Jacket when positioned properly (to cover from the tail bone up).
Fits beautifully when under my 1 piece Kadoya Leathers or 2 piece Winter Cordura gear.
hth.
