Leather Boot Cleaning advice?

Post by MrStompy »

hi all

this is a bit of a dumb question but you lot will know the answer no doubt...

Do you use normal boot polish on Leather riding boots?

I got AlpineStars boots and they are losing colour around the ankles where they rub on the foot controls.

thanks

I used lanomax on mine the last time they just soak the stuff up, its a bit hard wen you have 3 diferent materials on the boots like carbon fiber, plastic and a couple of diferent types of leather.

Dubbin also works could try that but lanomax and a rag was better i think.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Thanks all for the advice.

will go up the road and get some of this stuff.

i was thinking what i should do is wait till the bike show and no doubt some bird will be pimping a cleaning/protective boot product and i will get her to "show me how it works" (twice)

I got a can of the black colored dubbin, works good with 45000kms on the boots so far
But I hear from my 'local old salty crusty outback cattleman leather repair guru' that leather soap? is the ducksguts for everything, the way he talks about it I bet he showers and shaves with it.

Me being the suspicious person I am will investigate that further

Zorbel works well. You can get it from Bootmakers etc. I use it on my leathers, gloves, boots.

Snoseal. Get the boots hot first, put the Snoseal on and leave them cool. It soaks in and helps the waterproofing, especially as the boots get older. You can put black polish over the top of it after it cools.
