Zorst for ZXR250 C Model

Post by shame »

Hey Guys

Just got my learners and a 05 complianced ZXR250 (1993 Model). Love the Kwaka's.

I'm looking for a pipe for the bike and wondering what is best and where I can get my hands on one in Victoria?

Thanks

I'm not worried about loud. Did your bike come with that or if you got it, where and how much?

Came with it...

I had people on Bell St blocking their ears as I redlined it going past... *grins* It was almost excessively loud at 6K RPM, let alone 19K redline.. heehehe

Got some pics of it somewhere... Let me know if you want me to post.. No idea where it was purchased from unfortunetly.

Try staintune, I think the website is the same name. Them manufacture them right here in OZ so buy Australian.

Try http://www.formula1mc.com.au for formula 1 pipes, they might have one for your bike.

Just so everyone knows, I've submitted a query to both Staintune and Formula 1 to see what prices they come back with on mufflers for the ZX2R. I'll keep everyone updated so that this thread can be a 1-stop shop for ZX2R muffler info and a possible pricelist!

I got an update from the guys at Staintune and also from Formula1. Staintune came back to me simply saying that they don't make anything to suit the ZX2R.

Formula1, on the other hand, came back saying they could provide the following three models for the ZX2R: The F1 Saver, the Formula 1 and the Magnum for our little ZX2Rs. See here for more info:

http://www.formula1mc.com.au/products.htm

Prices range from $450-$650 dependent on model. Shoot them an enquiry for specific details :)

Hope this helps!

I spoke to one of the guys at F-1 before buying my system, the guy said the Saver looks a bit crappier & doesn't breathe quite as well as the "formula 1" pipe. i.e. he said its designed primarily for offroad thumpers and the like.
He said i may be saving $100 by getting a saver, but i might not be happy with it in the long term.

The other ones up from the Formula-1 are really just lots of shiny stuff, I'd think about them if i had a newer bike & "bling" had some weight, otherwise i'd not worry whatsoever & just go the formula1 pipe :D.

oh and r.e. ADR versus non ADR compliant? i'd go ADR compliant with the baffle welded in, the things loud enough as it is. They said its 94db, but its a LOUD 94db!
