Post by Strika »

Would anyone have any old issues of AMCN from 1995 in there collection???? I am trying to track down Troy Bayliss' lap times from the victorian Championships of that year! Any help would be appreciated. :)

I hear ya Phil............... I remember going thru my old mags for a Review of a GPX750 from the mid eighties, when i bought one in early 90. Man nostalgic or what!!!! I poured thru about 20 issues after already finding what I wanted. Spent 5 hours on the longeroom floor reminiscing.

OK, after a night of remenicing in the spare room  I came up with very little.
I found the amcn report on the 95 NSW championships and its only 1/4 of a page and has no lap times only results, so if the Vic champs report is the same it won't be much use.
I also found the race report from the 95 shell series at Mallala and could not find the P.I. one (that was the only VIC round of the series.)...
Hopefully some one else may have a better collection as I'm missing quite a few issues from that year...

In case your interested, the lap record at Mallala for the 600 supersports in 95 was 1.11.24.
Bayliss had a DNF and a 4th and was 2nd place in the championship with 1 round to go...
He was recovering from a broken radius from the P.I. SWC meeting 3 weeks earlier..

Was it Graeme Morris lap record or was it Paul Youngs? I've done 14's around lala but an 11 must have been insane back then

Thanks for the look see. I bet you kept getting caught reading articles as you were looking for the results........... I can imagine you being really disciplined for about three or four issues, going straight to the racing section for results, then being sidetracked by a story on a cover and just having a quick read thru it.......4 hours later...........

It was Paul Young.. Bayliss's qualifying time was 1:12:32 but he was "injured"..

and yep thats pretty much how it happened, the place is now a mess and I'm in trouble with the misses.. but I did find a great article on Mat Mladins 95 ZXR750 race bike... memories...

didn't that thing hold down the lap record at Lala for like nearly ten years or something silly??? I remember it being some insanely low time, that took the SBK guys ages to beat.
