Sellin bikes on Ebay

Post by wypuk »

hey guys and gals
ive been thinking about selling my bike before rego expires koz im going to upgrade in a few months anyway so i dont want the hassles of paying alot of rego and then selling it in a few months time

how does the ebay system work in regards to selling and is it worth it?
i got a 90 gpx which rides and goes and what not but as i bought it off a mate and managed to score a lenient road worthy i think the next buyer wont be so lucky as me with it

its done 57 k, looks abit rough around the edges, and ive stacked it once so it doesnt have a bottom fairing :S :S yeah i know its shameful but i was still learning (the spur is harder to ride than you think :P)

realistically could i get about 2g for it and is it worth going thru ebay or shuold i put it in the trading post
also should i sell it with road worthy etc or as is

to get roadworthy im looking at another 500 bux ish so i dont know if its worth the extra input

plz help
I wish i had wings....

An ebay questions got to loveem.

Im a full time ebay trader and have been for 5 years now.
Selling on ebay is very much worth it, if you know what to say & have the right items. :D

With that said ad more info in your ad, weather you think it's worth it or not.
It Saves people asking questions, and perhaps not coming back to your ad.
Info about tyres, reg, scratches, services, kms everything you can think of.
Area you live in for pick up etc.

A bike will cost you $5.00 to list plus any extras you ad. Bold, Gallery, front page, reserve etc.

If it sells final valuation fee is $30 no matter what it sells for $1k or 13K

To ad a reserve it's an extra $10.00 Therefore your listing is up to $15.00 plues extras.
Best bet it to start it at what you want it to go for.
If you want 2k, start it at 2k.

Good luck. :)

cool thanx alot for the advice guys,
but im still abit unclear on what to write
heres what ive come up with so far

Kawasaki Gpx 1990 model 57000 K on the clock original Ks
had both disks replaced in december, plenty of tread on rear wheel, front needs to be changed, slight scuffing of the exhausts and fairings due to previous owner. in need of some cosmetic tlc but rides excellent

how is this?
im the worlds worst saleman and i couldnt sell oxygen to a drowning victim so any advice is much appriciated

bike sales is really good.
i got around a dozen calls all up. 5 the day after i posted it.

as for roadworthy. get a shop to check it out.
i can recomend the shop at the bottom of keilor rd near mt alexander rd. (opposite maccas, sorta) can't remember what it's called but do not, i repeat do not take it to raceway suzuki up the other end.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

bike sales etc is a more specialised site, but ppl look for bikes on ebay these days too...
mind u it cost me $30 to advertise my ute on ebay & i got not one bite..but that coulda happened newhere i guess...

the joy with bike mags is that ppl who dont have the net buy them, and look thru them..and keep em, so if it doesnt sell, u might get a call in a months time?? u may not too..
