Heads up re Melbourne Airport motorbike parking
For those not in the know, we have free undercover motorbike parking at Melbourne Airport, close to area where all the car rental firms are. As you head into this area there are 2 lanes, right and left both leading into car rentals area.
Now, should your bike happen to have a Ventura rack and should it happen to have a fairly high bag on the back then best use the right hand lane.
I'm led to believe that if you use the left hand lane then there is a possibility of knocking the boom gate off it's perch with the bag.
Not saying this has happened but...
Ah wth, ok it's happened, went to the airport today to see my mum back from her holiday in Holland for 2 months and well one boom gate is a tad worse for wear...

A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

If you are worried about your bike and want to store it somewhere safe... (for longterm parking ofcourse) Use Andrews airport parking... You park it at their secure warehouse (and you can leave your jacket and helmet there) and they drop you off at the airport, and pick you up when you come back....

It saves heaps of hassles...

The world is round. It has no point.

thanks ...good headups on airport parking
and f'gawds sake do NOT expect to be able to park the bike anywhere
at the airport like you can in the rest of the state of Victoria
Vic bike rules do NOT apply on Commonwealth land (like the airport)
you WILL get a ticket and the bike will be removed
cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!
