Moto GP Phillip Island

Post by Strika »

Hey guys n gals. Thought it strange no-one had started a race thread for this. Prolly thought the get together thread was enough. But anyhoo, here are the results from Free Practice 2 yesterday at the Island.

MotoGP FP2

1.Stoner 31.28
2.Melandri 31.55
3.Pedrosa 31.80
4.Rossi 31.93
5.De Puniet 31.99
6.Barros 32.16
7.Checa 32.18
8.Capirossi 32.20
9.Hayden 32.31
10.West 32.45
11.Hopkins 33.27
12.Nakano 33.83
13.Davies 33.91
14.Vermeulen 33.94
15.Edwards 33.96
16.Guintoli 33.99
17.Elias 34.20
18.Tamada 35.17
19.Roberts 36.12

I thought they may have gone quicker than that. Maybe they are all just foxing a bit till the last Qualifying session??? :?

These guys get around PI in 31 secs?
That doesn't sound right

outright race lap record for GP bikes is held by Melandri
1.30.33 (according to Phillip Is Circuit records)

given yesterdays temps (or lack of)
a 1.31 is not shabby

cheers
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

I was having a dig at Strika for forgetting the 1 minute bit ;)
Why aren't you at the track?
I'm sitting here waiting for coverage to start :(

I may not bother even tomorrow! I'm not a big fan of the GP as far as the organisers go. It's just a rip off in my mind and not being able to access the outfield on your bike like you can at the Supers and every other bike event, shits me no end! It pretty much means picking a spot and staying put, or doing 6klm laps on the hoofers! So unless my mates manage to convince me tomorrow, I'll prolly kick back and watch it on Fox! Far better to kick back in my lounge room with some nibblies, drinks and a few well constructed spliffs and enjoy the warmth, comfort and coverage! Plus it's hard to spark a spliff in 30 knot winds! ;)

But, I may join some mates for a three day run up to the snowies nad back Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday so at least I will experience some aspects of the GP!

I'm positive Dave gave Neka the gift...

I don't think Neka was as successful giving it to anyone else though.
