Buying a Yoshi slip on over the net - any traps?

Post by Billz »

I'm a bit of a virgin with the whole electric internettery ebaying/email ordering caper, so I'm looking for some tips.

I'm thinking of getting a slip on Yoshi can from the US, like this one on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-YOSH ... QQtcZphoto

That one would work out at about $500 shipped, so it seems like an okay deal. There's others that I'm looking at too, this is just a f'instance - shipping and prices generally seem pretty variable. Anyway, I just wondered whether there was anything in particular I should be on the look out for in buying parts this way.

And, while I'm about it, what happens with the servo for the exhaust valve thingamajig on an '06 ZX6 when you change the can? I'm told the FI light faults unless you put an adapter of some sort on. dontknow.gif

dunno abt the valve... i kno lots of ppl who have just done a slip on tho..without playing with the valve i think??

anyway, ebay..just make sure u check the postage costs are TO AUSTRALIA cos often its not, and they catch ya out that way... sum charge more for postage, sum charge less....my method for getting a bargain is

1.look at the online shops in Aus 1st- u may get a good price and support local
2.look at a few US/UK sites to see what kinda deals they have
3.look at ebay

ive bought a few things thru non ebay sites as it wasnt a big saving, and i was supporting local or saving a lot of buggering about...

have fun!!

For the exhaust valve you'll need an adapter to stop the FI fault light coming on. The Two Bros cans come with one, and I think Mr Stompy said his Yoshi came with one too, but if not you could order a TBR one. Maybe PM him to confirm.

I've bought several exhausts + other bits from from http://www.starcycle.com" target="_blank (and from their eBay store) and had nothing but positive experiences.

apparently the US pipes have a battle inside of them but it can be easily removed once you undo the rivets. The aussie locals cant compete with the US prices so you have to decided what you want to do. Me personally would go for which ever is cheapest.

JC Motors, check their e-bay store. Great to deal with, fast postage, very good prices. They are on the West Coast, so delivery is pretty quick.....
