I do mine in the bath with martha gardeners wool mix (cause my wife said it would work and it does)

You have a Gay jacket? you don't like it being gay so you don't wash it as punishment?

Riding in the rain makes it worse, at least when you ride in traffic in the rain.
I've washed mine for the first time after over a year of daily use (except hot days). Just chucked in the washing machine after removing the armor and put it on a delicate cycle. It's cleaner but still grubby from road grime.

Elbow grease is normally kept between the left-handed screwdrivers and the striped paint. You can't miss it...

That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

My jacket is usually in a terrible state - and contrary to what people think it does get washed from time to time!

Last time I washed it, it was really, really filthy. I took the armour out of it, put it in the washing machine with just normal washing powder, filled it up and let it swish around a few times... then lifted the lid and let it soak there for 24 hours. Next day finished the cycle, then just ran it through quickly on the gentle cycle, hung it up to dry - clean as! I think I nearly blinded my friend on the ride the next day it was that clean! :D
