Arai Kwaka Helmets

Post by SoundGuy »

So what's the story with these helmets.
Me thinks they're just custom paint jobs for the photoshoot.
But i'm hoping i'm wrong and we can buy them ;)

I am guessing a pommy photo so go here if you didnt think of it

its pretty piss poor, so you probably already looked and (like me) couldnt find it.
I couldnt even find the Dean Thomas or Gary McCoy Rep....
There is a Hayden rep in green in the US that looks sweet as

This makes VERY interesting reading but, Arai sidepods (and I wear a KBC by the way)
http://www.araiamericas.com/Arai_Differ ... depods.asp

If you are too lazy here is a bit of the blurb

Pod-less systems are easier to make, requiring the simple flat surfaces beneath the pivot points to contain the mechanisms on both sides.
But because Arai believes these flat spots in the shell's curvature may diminish its integrity, we strive to maintain and continue the shell's natural three-dimensional curvature beneath the shield's pivot mechanism (that nobody sees) in order to maintain shell integrity
Flat spots can also mean weak spots, even in the areas of the pivoting mechanism, since the EPS liner behind it is thinner. To correct that, the liner must be made harder and less comfortable, or thicker. And if thicker, the helmet becomes bigger and more round than Arai's smaller, organic egg shape.
