Knocking or ticking is what they do, older jap bike pumps pulse unlike ones like BMW that are continuous.
If you are worried about your pump just pull off the hose to the carbs & wack it in a container then start up, if you have a flow of fuel then all is ok.

Hi Pete. I used to have one of these as a racebike (and i wish i still had it) but mine had a similar problem with stalling after 5 to 10 mins of running. It turn out to be that the fuel pump relay had a dry joint and as soon as it would get a bit warm it would cut out the fuel pump and starve the engine of fuel. Apparently it's common.IrishPete wrote:Cheers mate!

Howdy mate, seem to have gotten that problem sorted. Looks like it was starvation due to the in-tank filters being clogged up with all kinds of shite.
Have had a few other niggles that contributed as well, but I think I've managed to iron out most of the bugs at this stage(I think) and will be cruising around Broadford raceway next week as a shakedown.
One thing though, I'm not overly impressed with the stock stoppers. Is there anything beefier that'd bolt on with no mods?
