engine swap

G'Day All,
I have a GPX600R 1988 model in great condition except the motor is cactus, ie cams pitted, no compression etc i am looking for another motor worth the transplant as it would cost a lot more than the bike is worth to sell to repair same motor. does the GPZ600 bolt straight in and is it the same? Also would something like the GPZ900 motor fit without too much surgery or does someone oput there have a good motor?
