I find the original bulb is not bright enough and want to change it.

Any recommendations on a better bulb? And how hard is it to change?

And adjust? Beam seems to be too low...

Thanks!

We couldn't tell with the stickers over them...

You can get higher wattage bulbs around the place. Not sure if they put any extra strain on the electrics though.

I thought mine was a bit dim as well. Once I adjusted it up where it should be I realised it was me that's dim.

I ran a 100W/55W bulb in mine for many years with no problems. The only problem I did have was they didn't like bouncing over dirt roads and I kept losing the low beam every 6-12 months.

Adjustments should be on either side of the lower-rear of the light. We've got a 250 and 1100 and, although they differ slightly, they're in the same spots. One side will be the up/down, the other, left/right.

Get comfortable with the adjusters, then do it at night, with the bike level on flat ground. It's a good idea to have someone sit on it while you're adjusting it, too, putting the suspension under load. This is how it's going to be when you're riding it after-all.

If you regularly carry a pillion, make a small allowance for this, by setting the beam just short of perfect. When you've got a pillion on, you can end up with a "possum spotter" for a headlight.

Rather than go for a brighter globe, I plan on going for a HID conversion on my 1100. Worlds apart.
