'04 zx10 cam timing?
I am thinking about getting my intake cam advanced 3 degrees. Apparently it fattens up the torque curve without hurting the top end. Anyone heard about this? Anyone done this? Will it do as advertised?
Real bravery is being afraid but doing it anyway.

Re: '04 zx10 cam timing?
Advancing the intake cam up to 5deg over stock is something that has been happening on bikes for years.....when the Katana was first introduced to NZ back in the early 80's, the first model was a 1000cc, not 1100cc.......the standard inlet cam on the 1 litre Kat had cam-tining that was advanced 5deg over the 'stock' GSX1100 cams used in normal gixxers....these cams used bolt-up cam sprockets, not slotted sprockets (which allow inlimited adjustment over a certain range..)
3deg advance of your inlet cams is unlikely to really make any difference on the road, but could be worth trying on a race bike or track day only bike ? You should call Rick Miller at RAM Engineering, or even Peter Pulford out at Mitchell, and put this to them. Peter is a hog specialist, but knows his way around motors better than most others here in Anarchy Road.
