Hoffy - this song makes me laugh - you know why ?? Because it is *such* a throwback to the 80's !!! 
It sounds just like something you would have heard on the dancefloor back in about 1986 !!!! Hardly surprising really, its sung by a Kiwi chick who once was bitten by a seagull and almost carked it......she is from the South Island, not exactly cutting-edge music territory......
Weird Al Yankovic should do a number on this song......."stop swimmin' in my aquarium...."
