Fuelling issue?
I've just replaced the oil and oil filter on my 06 Z750 and something curious has happened! It's running really well but when on the M5 and in 5th/6th gear if I wring the neck out of my throttle is really hooks up great but as the tachometer hits 6000 it starts to slow and surge a bit so I back off the accelerator a touch and it hooks up again and the speedo marches on upwards even faster than it was moving prior to hitting 6000rpm but then as soon as it hits that number again it slows and surges till I ease off the gas! Have googled it and found nothing! Ideas anyone? It's my daily ride to work 40km each way to city and back!

Re: Fuelling issue?
This normally causes the bike to stop but as a guess you could have a vapour lock in the tank.......... check that the vent in the fuel cap is working, it lets air in as the fuel goes out & equalises the pressure

Griffo, I suspect Rob might be onto something, which is more than I can say for either of the oxygen thieves above

Re: Fuelling issue?
Gee thanks for the helpful offerings! I do fill the tank till it's basically brimming and that there's only just a wee gap "whilst standing next to the bike" filling it! I hadn't given the fuel cap breather a thought actually? I'll check it out this weekend! Thanks to those offering help/guidance. Cheers Griffo
p.s. Considering the Pic of my bike could be slightly analyzed i'd better find something decent or just something utterly crap worthy of a few laughs!

Re: Fuelling issue?
Well as far as i can tell the fuel breather works as when i fill the tank as full as possible and then close the cap the excess petrol dribbles onto the ground below the bike? Has anyone seen something like this and it was caused by a crappy or faulty air filter perhaps? I know if it was my car the first place i'd look is the fuel filter to make sure it's not full of built up crap but i don't seem to be able to find any such fuel filter on my bike? Grr ARRGH
