Testing Times...
Well I've had a marathon test-ride session today. Rode the CBR1000RR, ZX10R, Blackbird, GSXR1000, SV1000S, Busa and an R1.

re: Testing Times...
Hmmm. let me see....none of the above because the grin factor from a CT110 was just too good to go past?
Am I right?
Am I right?

re: Testing Times...
The 10 will break ya back, balls and kidneys, the 12 will just kill ya outright.
Both will break the bank evenly.
Oh yeah, what a day testing all those machines *drools*

Okay, so you make a post with a question and keep us all in suspense... thats really really mean!
I Don't know what sort of a rider you are, but from all that I hear from others who have test ridden them, the R1 is the best for track riding, and the 12 is the best for high speed grunt. But lets hope for the sake of the forums, that you go for the 12.

I'd guess the 10 was the pick of bunch... but there always is a curve ball in questions like this....

re: Testing Times...
hehehe sorry to keep you in suspense, but yeah the ZX10R is my pick of the bunch. They were all great bikes, and I did try to approach it objectively, but it won me over (or back
).
Some of my impressions, feel free to disagree
:
CBR1000RR - Not bad but I must have had dodgy one, it wouldn't turn into corners too well. The seat was like a plank.
ZX10R - Handles nice, heaps of grunt, more comfy than I expected, comfiest seat of the litre sports bikes. I'm not biased, really
Blackbird - As I've said in earlier posts, this is a surprising sports tourer and a hoot to ride. Feels a lot like the nine with twice as much grunt. A bit big and soft when push comes to shove though, but that's just compared to the other bikes I rode today. Seriously Smitty, have a test ride
(I can't believe I just said that)
GSXR1000 - Probably my second choice of the litre sports, if only the seat was a bit more comfy. Looks like it should be better but don't be fooled, it's hiding some nasty bumps. I tested the '04 model, the '05 doesn't come out for another couple of weeks. Goes like the clappers!
SV1000S - Sweet through the corners and a bit less racy ride position, nice and comfy. Seriously though, I couldn't get used to the tractor engine vibration
Fun to blip the throttle at the lights though
Busa - Faaaaaark
If only they didn't look about 10 years old...
R1 - Sweet bike, sounds nice, goes nice, looks nice...but that seat is a torture device. No padding to speak of and the term "toasted nuts" comes to mind
15 minutes and they were well roasted
ZX12R - Would have loved to have ridden one but they didn't have a demonstrator...except for a used 2001 model. A mates one I have ridden before impressed with the power, but disappointed with the handling. Maybe they've improved but I'm not willing to risk my hard earned on a maybe. Plus I don't like the idea of having to drop the engine to get the valve cover off
