You know when you read on a packet or website in this case "*note, professional installation required" and you say to yourself, nah i can do that, piece of piss.
well...
I just got a pair of valdermoto peg adjuster plates.
sounds pretty simple right?
my problem is i cant get the bike to select 2nd anymore.
This as you can imagine, is a bit of a problem.
Anyone got the majic answer to this problem?
And before you say put it basck as it was, that doesnt seem to do it either.
As far as i can tell im not getting the rod length right.
if someone can even just tell me the standard length would be great
as i commute on my bike, so any thoughts tonight would be great.
cheers

You definitely got the right one for your bike?
The rod length typically only adjusts the lever height (although it can have an affect on the shaft movement if an arm is way out (say the shaft arm is outside 4 to 8 o'clock)
The distance from the centre of the peg to the centre of the rose joint will affect the shaft rotation.
It might be as simple as rotating the arm on the gear selector shaft to get the correct ratio and lever height and then adjust the rod last to fine tune the lever height.

I know this is a silly question but you are trying to get it into second while you're riding the bike aren't you? If you're trying to do it while the bike is stationary the positive neutral finder won't let you.

"Jerry or JB" for Jeremy Burgess the best damn bike engineer alive or ...... anyone have any ideas i think it warrants a new "Monica"

safe to say i really deserve any name you guys can come up with.
In fact we can run a competition.
I'll come around and service the bike of whoever comes up with the best name...
Seriously tho, it wasnt just the positive neutral finder.
i was riding the bike around last night with no joy.
it was a combination of what angle i was attaching the rose joint to the spline
last night (i was using the light from my mobile phone),
then when i started mucking about this morning i just naturally put it the right way. and didnt even think that i should ride it.
now for a hundred other excuses...

Don't worry mate, the only reason I thought of it was cause it caused me the same sort of grief till I figured out what the problem was...plus I have an intimate knowledge of how it works after the rebuild of the 9's gearbox
I'm just glad it was an easy fix for you

On a happier note, the plates work nicely.
the bike feels heaps better and they are easy (ignoring user stupidity) to install.
will post some piccies of em later.
