Help With Power Commander Unit Needed!

Post by Snaith »

I've got a 2007 ZX 10 R, looking for someone whos knows a bit about the Power Commander unit thats installed. Can I change sthe settings on it and how? I got told its mapped for 95 Octane, the newer models doesnt like 98 since it messes up the fuel injection and makes them twitchy. Is this correct? When I press the unit, it looks like its set for the lowest amount of power and the best fuel economy. Located under the passanger seat for easy access.

Thankful for answers!

to change the settings you need to load a new Map into the PC3 itself.
I am unsure why you would have been told 98ron would do that to it, if anything it would make it run better, cleaner, crisper.

best thing to do is, take it to bike tuning place/mechanic and get them to create a map for you how you want it set.

Also tuning it to have the power down, wont make it better on fuel either. When it running at its peak performance, is when it will utilize the fuel in the most economical way.

Dynojet has a web site that has a totourial that will answer all your questions. Just do a search on dynojet power commander and you will find it. If you cannot find the web site you should probably let somebody else tune it for you, as that would be an indication you are mentally challenged. Jim Beam helps as well.
