We're used to seeying the Vicroads Cars out and about looking for Heavy Vehicles breaking "The Law"...
but this w'end girls and boy's they will be issuing speeding fines to the general public
This must be the only place on the PLANET where non sworn members of the public service are given such powers
Try pulling me over knob jocky's, time for a line in the sand
I heard a couple of the Hardly Riders saying they would be issuing black eyes, not tickets

WTF ? How will they 'issue' a fine ? From speed camera's ? Out of their own cars ?

Would be interesting to see how the authority to issue speeding offences has been delegated to members of the general public.......maybe they have sworn all these guys in as special members for the weekend ?? lots of coppers taking the June long weekend off down in Mexico eh ?

the traffic guys in vicroads have the same powers as police under the Road Traffic Act
and they are allowed and can use traffic cameras and speed detection devices under that power
...which they use USUALLY for heavy vehicle raod management.
This weekend the police have asked them to join the traffic blitz that will occur for ALL motorists
and they have radios linked with Vicpol.....

There was a NEWS story a while ago about the lollypop ladies taking rego and passing on
to council who then issued fines for school zone infringements
