Post by greg »

Hi All..... :run late this arvo at Nasho....heavy traffic on way back to home...Noticed coolant leaking below when parked her in garage:shock:  Engine was running hot but fan had kicked in for the last 20 mins of the run home...has happened before overflow when engine running hot.....hope it's because of this and not a bloody radiator leak :? :? :? :? Will try later when bike cools down.... :? replaced radiator second hand all good 6 months ago.... how much is too much when overflow? any other 12 riders experience this b4????

overflow should just go into the bottle, not out to the ground.

shouldnt leak ... (mine doesnt)

I would check all the hoses/connections for tightness
(as the Barges does tend to run warm...even in winter)
GOTTA LUV the 12R!!

thats nothing mate, they do leak if you overfill the coolant bottle..I made that mistake when I filled mine while on rear stand, when I dropped if off the rear stand it went to way too full and subsequestly leaked a bit of coolant when I next rode the bike..best to fill the bottle to 10mm below the full line.

also, as your hoses are 10 years old probably, Id keep a close eye on them and replace if they harden and check the clamps for any leakage.

It's not illegal to own two bikes and if you want to keep the 12 as a second bike, i can understand that
