Frame Sliders Yes/No?
hello girls and boys,
As the zx10r is soon to be ready for its first big day I'm now looking at protection...In this case frame sliders.
I've heard both good and bad things about frame sliders..
GOOD...helps protect the frame,etc.
BAD.....Can dig in the ground and cause more damage.
Any feed back would be good!

Kaneg or Similar! They will grind down quicker and may bend the bolt etc but better than the supposed premium ones that could dig in and flip the bike!
Oh and Wattie u should know 20 questions are never enough

Re: Frame Sliders Yes/No?
hhmmmm hearing this concerns me... i have been looking at frame sliders and the like lately as well and to hear that they can make the bike get airborne causing more damage is a bit of a concern...spose i better not come off then...
If you have it under control you don't have enough Power

Re: Frame Sliders Yes/No?
I have had 5 crashes at the track & each time the crash knobs saved a shit load of damage & have either allowed me to have the bike back in working condition for the next session or be ready with minimal work required. I would say for a track bike they are worth it, as for the road I do not use them but fully comp insurance is a must
Only use Nylon sliders as they wear quicker than the alloy ones & will absorb the impact better.

Re: Frame Sliders Yes/No?
Have always used them..
Had em on my zx9r tracky and they saved a lot of damage in a high speed turn 1 acco.. Slid all the way to the wall and only damaged the engine case. Frame, tank and most of the fairings were fine..
I've only "fell down" once on the 10, low speed, and the crash knobs took all the initial impact and protected the tank and frame from damage. It did dig and flip once it hit the grass but it was slow and didn't cause any further damage..
Also helps when it falls over in the garage..
Thats my experience, so read into that what you will..
Others may have different experiences and hate them.. each to there own..
Just don't crash and its not a problem....
