ZX-6R Resto - Dumb Question

Post by Phoenix »

Those who don't know the story of my bike - it suffered a stack with some engine damage on the right side.
MY QUESTION - On the right side with the engine timing cover removed, I can see through to the inside of the engine - Is this the sump and if so does this mean the timing pick-up etc is exposed to oil with engine running??
Why you ask? Looking into this area, I can see gravel left over from the stack!

As wattie said but it looks like you will need to split the cases anyway ... the RHS would need replacing :?
