Ya exhaust is leaking mate!!!!

Post by tape »

After being told my exhaust had a hole in it by Dan... And Rossi assured me that all ya havta do is undo the thing and drop it out mate....

Well if anyone has done it... what a farkin nightmare :x

Not only do ya havta remove all the fairing, lift tank up, drain then remove the farkin radiator, but also ya gotta drain the oil and remove the farkin oil cooler. Lucky I ordered the filters and exhaust gaskets today.

One word of advice... make sure ya missus is a great (understanding) peice of girly bits if ya doing it in the dinning room....rofl

Might be yelling out for assistance Rossi and Dan...lol

I keep yas posted on the end result ...

cheers
Mick :drinkers:

c'mon Dan
we KNOW a zorst with a hole in it makes a bike go faster than one without
the noise levels tell you so.....

I don't have a garage atm, I'm not freezin my nads off working on the bike outside...

The oil landed on the middle of the tile, I did have a tray under it b4 then tho. T is the best, she actually took those photos... 8)

The zaust has been welded, luckily cos a 2nd hander from wreckers was gunna cost $300..... The metal was rusted, bent some flat mild steel and mig'd it to the bastard. Hopefully it is ok cos I don't wanna do this again in a hurry.

Waiting on Zaust gaskets (rings) and filters (mine and T's) then I start the pain of putting the bike back together.

cheers

Bike back together, no zaust leaks, oil and coolant changed. Sounds a little quieter now tho...

Big Thanks to Rossi and Linda for popping over, Rossi for checking the chain on both bikes. 8)

Took it for a spin, (farking cold) and it was a bit different in sound... hopefully I won't get done in next weekend in NSW... lol

All in all it was an experience pulling the bike apart, not something I wanna do again in a hurry.

Oh and Dan.. just a minor diff in torque (not that I'd notice yet)

cheers
