Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
I am sad to say but adding an aftermarket pipe to the little ninjas make them sound like total rubbish, especially the really loud ones

Waits for Miz to enter.......
Agreed, there are far better mods to make than a loud exhaust. Noise will not stop an idiot from hitting you, contrary to popular belief.

Re: Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
Agree entirely Rob! There's some good sounding LAMS bikes out there, but the ninja 250 isn't one of them! They're also very recognisable, many an occasion before I see the bike I've though "here comes a ninja 250 with a slip on", and haven't been wrong yet.robracer wrote:I am sad to say but adding an aftermarket pipe to the little ninjas make them sound like total rubbish, especially the really loud ones![]()

Re: Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
Yeah the old parallel twin has a "unique" sound uncorked.
I had a LAMS Hyo 650 with a carbon slip on which made Ducatti riders green with envy & it sounded sweet for a V-twin.
Still not as funny as a mate who had a Yamaha 250 on his L's that revved to 18,000rpm and you could here it from 3 km's away but it just didn't go anywhere fast

many a time ive heard a bike, and thought that 'sounds like a kerker'... and sure enough, a short time later a front wheel appears above the horizon...

Kerker
pfffft the little ninja I heard this morning sounded obnoxious (it had a pretty much straight through Yoshi) & it doesn't help that the young male rider was strangling the poor bike in peak hour traffic, it seemed pretty unnecessary to keep it in first gear so it bounces off the rev limiter whilst filtering through traffic

Re: Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
Absolutely agree. I've always said sticking a pipe on a 250 twin is ridiculous. They're not big enough to sound deep and throaty , they just sound loud and wimpy (a bit like Pinchy
)

Re: Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
had the absolute misfortune to be stuck between a 250 ninja and a cbr250; both with aftermarket cans
omfg - what an ugly, tinny, shitty sound ; in stereo! both learners and both having a love affair with the rev limiter.

Re: Ninja 250 aftermarket pipes
Well.... I just bought an MGP growler about 3 weeks back. It arrivied today with a few scratches. Soooo this may be a sign. That being said, noise is by far the best reason why I am buying it. I wont be surprised if i get hit with a defect notice, considering i always bump into 2-3 cops on the way to uni.
